COVER LETTER

I have been following your work at FACT for a few years now, I had a membership to 180 Studios while I was studying for my postgraduate degree in London and went to most of the exhibitions showcased at 180 during my time there. I fell in love with the LUX exhibition, I ended up attending about half a dozen times and I credit it with discovering my passion for visual arts and installation work. I also went to see Future Shock and Richard Mosse’s Broken Spectre, both of which had such a significant impact on my creative identity and artistic development, I genuinely believe that my experiences at 180 Studios are significant factors towards my success at the postgraduate level, towards my final exhibition project, and to the creator that I am today. Since moving back home to Warrington, I have been to FACT Liverpool a couple of times and had a look around the exhibitions, I love the space and the culture that the site has curated in the area, plus, as a huge film enthusiast and practising as a film composer, I love the film programme you have curated at FACT. I have such an admiration for the entire organisation, I really respect how you are dedicated to building culture and community around bold artistic voice and innovative creativity, something that I hold so intrinsic to my own artistic practice and creative vision. To be able to work as part of a cultural organisation such as FACT would be such an incredible opportunity, this kind of opportunity is what I have been working towards my whole life and developing over the last half-decade. I truly believe this is a position where I can utilise my years of experience, unique set of creative skills and innovative vision, and where I can become a part of something much bigger than myself where I can actually make a change and continue to develop my artistic and creative practice.

WHY ME?

As a multi-faceted and multi-disciplinary creative and contemporary artist, I have been immersed in the creative world for almost a decade, working across disciplines and collaborating across mediums, during that time I have amassed a vast, diverse & interchangeable skillset with a dedicated work ethic and ability to learn new skills & tools extremely quickly and adapt to new disciplines with fluidity. I have developed strong curatorial skills over the last few years, during my time studying both my undergraduate degree and especially my postgraduate degree in MA Sound Arts at the University of Arts London. As part of this experience, I studied curation modules and was a central part of the curation of my final project exhibition, which involved curating a dozen projects that all incorporated a significant sound element, which required meticulous planning and structure in its curation and exhibition. I was almost solely responsible for the technical setup of my project which involved synchronised audio and visual elements and projections, on top of being heavily involved in creative choices within the exhibition curation and assisting in fellow students’ setup and performance.

All of this experience, compounded with my years of experience as a multimedia video & sound artist creating artworks, brand strategies, curatorial & tastemaker projects, and creative content across a diverse range of mediums & platforms, I have been immersed in the creative world for almost a decade, working and collaborating across disciplines. This, combined with my years and years of managing creative projects and brands, has given me a keen eye for consistent brand image and creative content strategy, from ideation to content creation and execution. I have been conceptualizing and implementing creative campaigns & strategies across platforms and media formats for almost a decade, with years of experience creating both written & visual content, collaborating alongside a wide range of creatives and working with other artists and brands. I have experience with dozens of projects on which I have worked as the creative producer, with a handful of large-scale commercial products as executive producer, overseeing the creative production of small teams and managing the project from briefings with the directors, through the production and composition process, and to final delivery, experienced both as a project manager and as a part of a creative team and comfortable balancing multiple ongoing projects while meeting tight deadlines and prioritising appropriately.

With a familiarity in Adobe Creative Suite, a unique visual flair built on a background in product design and an artistic practice based in visual art & media, I bring a signature approach to content creation and brand visualisation, with skills in photography, videography, graphic design, video production & editing. With solid curative vision and taste-making ability, I am able to capture a vision and a brand image through creative content across text, image and video. I bring a genuinely unique perspective on creativity, with innovation at the heart of my work whilst working across large-scale commercial and niche, underground projects, this has allowed me to nurture a powerful ability to work across disciplines and mediums, with an intuitive sense of what a project needs to allow it to flourish, which I believe will enable to extract the most out of every opportunity and allow to become a crucial asset for the team. My two strongest qualities are my problem-solving, adaptability, and ability to learn very quickly and apply my skillset, which I really bring to the table, able to pick up new platforms, systems and tools fluently to optimise my creativity. I cherish the opportunity to reinvent and repurpose my creativity with every unique project brief, I love the process of immersing myself fully into a project, building aesthetic worlds from the ground up and challenging my own practice.

With plenty of cross-disciplinary collaboration experience, I have fantastic interpersonal & communication skills and a highly professional set of administrative knowledge, familiar with Adobe CS and fluent in MS Office. I have a solid understanding of digital media & web content, with years of experience writing copy & editorial content. As an interdisciplinary sound & media artist, I create multimedia compositions, experimental audio-visual & installation work, and immersive sound works, crafting bold & unique worlds at the intersection of science, technology & media with an innovative creative approach. I write original musical scores for award-winning short films & trailers plus media & advertising projects, and release electronic music as Know You, with a catalogue totalling almost 400,000 streams, collaborations with brands like the London College of Fashion and Sky Studios, and work featured at London Fashion Week and global film festivals.

My experience over the years has contributed to a unique sense of creative, conceptual, and strategic thinking. I am highly organised, and detail-orientated, I’m certainly a perfectionist with my work, but I am very good at working under pressure and working with tight deadlines without sacrificing content, something I have streamlined with good time management. Able to learn extremely quickly, I approach everything with an eagerness to learn new tools and develop my craft.
